After a water leak damaged the flooring, my partner and I decided to remodel most of our house. We've also decided to do it ourselves while still living in it, which has caused some issues. We have had a blast learning new skills and teaching our kids that anything worth having is worth the hard work. It may have started as a leak, but we've always wanted to make the house our own. Together, we're making a home we can be proud to call our own and making memories the kids will never forget.

This year, one of his favorite strategies has been reviewing Amazon products. The program compensates people for creating videos reviewing items that get posted to product listings. He has now been reviewing products since April and has concluded that it's one of the best opportunities that he has seen since he began making money online. You have to submit three trial videos reviewing products. "Just this last month, I got over $4,000 of free products sent to my house to do these review videos," Peterson said.

The final season premiere of the docu-essay series “How To With John Wilson” opens, like many of its episodes, with a problem. Wilson, whose self-help ruminations began airing on HBO in 2020, has a home plumbing emergency that sends him on a search for New York City’s elusive public bathrooms. But the episode, “How to Find a Public Restroom,” is about more than the lengths New Yorkers will go to for relief. Wilson talks to cabdrivers who resort to peeing in empty water bottles for lack of accessible facilities. Wilson builds out his story like a complex system of plumbing.

FRANKFURT, June 30 (Reuters) - Some Deutsche Bank (DBKGn.DE) customers will not have access to all services this weekend as the bank completes the merger of its IT platforms with Postbank customers, a project that will save hundreds of millions of euros in the years to come. In the fourth and final wave of the integration process this weekend, Deutsche Bank will transfer 4 million contracts of 2 million Postbank customers to a common IT system, a Deutsche Bank spokesperson said. It will mean that customers will not have all access to all services over the weekend, which the bank has communicated on Twitter and elsewhere. Deutsche Bank is currently in the process of cutting costs and reducing headcount, and the Postbank technology integration, dubbed internally as project "Unity", will eventually bring savings of 300 million euros ($325.29 million) a year by 2025, the bank has said. After completion, Deutsche will have 19 million customers' contracts from Postbank on a single platform, a milestone for CEO Sewing as he continues to turn around the bank after years of losses and scandals.

Jolie Holland has been a touring musician for 20 years. I've been a touring musician for 20 years, so when I say I've experienced it all — from hotels to Airbnbs to motels — you can believe it. When I first heard about Airbnb in the early 2010s, I thought it would change the way I experienced touring. And if something goes wrong with check-in in the middle of the night, there's often no one to turn to for help. With a hotel, there's obviously always an employee on site.

As more devices in our lives run on software, manufacturers have started to exert more control over their products even after the customer has taken them home. In some cases, companies force customers to use their repair services, disabling the product if they try to fix it themselves. Companies are just beginning to monetize this control, with dystopian methods and the assistance of America's unbalanced copyright laws. For companies, the appeal of subscriptions is pretty straightforward: a steady stream of revenue and a lot more money raised from their customers over time. In other cases, companies have tried to block consumers from accessing certain features at all unless they pay up first.
Feb 27 (Reuters) - Canadian oil and gas producer Baytex Energy Corp (BTE.TO) is nearing a deal to acquire U.S. peer Ranger Oil Corp (ROCC.O) for around $2.5 billion including debt, people familiar with the matter said on Monday. Calgary, Alberta-based Baytex will pay a mixture of cash and stock to buy Ranger at a small premium to its current market value of $1.8 billion. Baytex and Ranger did not immediately reply to requests for comment. Baytex's deal would add to the run of Canadian energy operators seeking to boost the amount they produce south of the border. Enerplus Corp (ERF.TO) completed in December the sale of its Canadian operations, leaving it with assets in North Dakota and Pennsylvania.
Jan 19 (Reuters) - U.S. self-driving truck firm Outrider said on Thursday it has raised $73 million in funding to scale up its autonomous trucks operating in distribution yards for customers in e-commerce, manufacturing and other industries. It also includes fresh funding from American venture capital fund New Enterprise Associates (NEA) and the venture capital arm of industrial conglomerate Koch Industries. Outrider says its self-driving yard truck "hitches to and unhitches from trailers, robotically connects and disconnects trailer brake lines, backs semi-trailers with precision, interacts safely with loading docks, and keeps track of trailer locations throughout the yard." The company says its customers represent more than 20% of all yard trucks operating in North America, and have invested in joint product testing and pilot operations since 2019. Yard trucks are designed to move trailers and cargo containers in distribution yards.

“We implore voters and members of the media to allow election officials to do their work.” The process is painstaking. In New Hanover, students allegedly were harassed while walking to class from a voting site, and an observer allegedly “angrily” confronted an election official, the board reported. “There are 8,800 election jurisdictions and we see issues pop up every election day,” the official said, citing low-level cyberattacks against election websites or accidental website outages as potential examples. Faced with rising energy bills and double-digit inflation in the UK, every little bit can help, which is why I was drawn to the idea of switching bank accounts. By the time I realized this in mid-September, Santander had withdrawn its switching bonus offer. The bank also offered to credit my Santander account with a £50 payment by way of apology. By then, NatWest was already in the process of switching my First Direct account over, so I couldn't switch it to Santander. And you need savings, as some of the banks I used required £1,000 or more in the new accounts to get the switching bonus.
